This place was great Emily was my therapist she is amazingPosted on Ian Pauken16/08/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Before going through this program, I never went through any mental health programs which felt consistently proper enough to feel like they really counted so, I consider my attendance through this program as more of my actual first experience. And, as a first experience, I thought it was great. Each staff member is great at their job and extremely kind and considerate, you really feel their desire to help everyone going through the program. It was admittedly an adjustment to get used to a group setting for me and I got really grumpy on days I was upset but the more willing I became to accept the program and stop resenting it, I realized how helpful it was to actually sit back and hear others speak and receive feedback. And, the staff did an excellent job in shutting down off-road tangents in a way that didn't feel humiliating or shameful to experience. They did a great job in making sure that everyone got to be heard without anything overstimulating into chaos during process. I would really recommend this place to anyone who feels like they are in a rut or need help of this kind. This place really helped me stop feeling so worthless, hopeless and alone in my struggles by its ability to connect and engage with others and be given feedback in ways to cope. I will admit that most of the coping strategies felt extremely stupid when I first came to the place but I then had a shift in my mentality, to allow myself to actively engage with the skills instead of acting above it. My main advice to anyone looking to enter this program is that you should go into it with an open-mind, this makes the process a million times better for you because no one can truly help you if you cannot even help yourself. That lesson is the most important thing I learned from this program. Thanks a million for this wonderful program!Posted on vikki johnson22/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I attended Basepoint from late April to the End of July. Everyone working here is so accommodating and helpful. The difference I can see within myself from before attending to now is amazing. I've learned so many skills here and hearing other peoples perspectives on my experience can be so extremely helpful. Everyone has fantastic insight and it's a very safe, supportive, and open environment. The therapists are super helpful and welcoming as well. I definitely recommend this program!Posted on K1ue21/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I loved it here. Texas ranks last in the U.S. for access to mental health care, with significant shortages of mental health professionals across the state. Young adults, in particular, face challenges in finding timely and affordable treatment for mental health conditions like depression, anxiety disorders, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In 2023, Texas reported a provider shortage in over 80% of the counties, leaving millions with limited access to critical mental health care. With low funding rates for mental health services, young adults seeking treatment have long wait times and high barriers to care. As a result, many are forced to seek care outside their communities or rely on emergency services.
BasePoint BreakThrough is on a mission to improve these statistics by increasing access to mental health disorder treatment in Texas to become one of the top five states offering mental health care for young adults by 2030. Their excellence in treatment and advocacy for mental health care in Texas seeks to reduce the current gaps in service and ensure that young adults have access to quality mental health care crucial to overall health and wellness.

A partial hospitalization program or PHP in Texas provides intensive mental health treatment when you need more support than a traditional outpatient program but do not require 24/7 supervision of full hospitalization. PHPs typically use a structured environment with daily therapy sessions, including individual and group counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management when necessary.
The PHP program at BasePoint BreakThrough tailors treatment programs for mental health in young adults and late teens to meet your needs and diagnosis. The program allows you to receive evidence-based treatment during the day but return home in the evening. This level of care is ideal when you’re transitioning from inpatient care or need more intensive support than standard outpatient services.
An intensive outpatient program or IOP in Texas provides structured mental health treatment options but does not provide the same level of intensive care that a PHP or day treatment in Texas provides. IOPs typically involve receiving several sessions per week with a flexible schedule that allows you to maintain some of your daily school or work responsibilities.
The IOP program at BasePoint BreakThrough provides evidence-based treatment in individual and group settings to address conditions like trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, and anxiety disorders. An IOP is an effective solution for mental health in teens and young adults when you’re transitioning from a higher level of care or need focused treatment while still living at home.

CBT helps identify negative thought patterns responsible for triggering young adult and teen depression behaviors.

Teen therapy may be available through community health centers and private practices, but it is best received from specialized treatment facilities that understand the unique needs of teenagers and young adults.

These sessions are led by therapists who focus on issues such as anxiety, depression, social skills, and other young adult mental health disorders. Adolescents also benefit from shared experiences while building a sense of community.
Group therapy can be offered in various settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and specialized mental health centers. These programs typically include a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, peer support, and skill-building exercises that support college students’ mental health, gaining confidence, and managing their emotions in a healthy way.

Therapists work with you to explore your thoughts and feelings, helping you to develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve overall emotional well-being. Various talk therapy options include individual, group, family, and couples therapy.

These services are available in clinics that specialize in teenage and young adult therapy. Moving into transitional adulthood is tumultuous in the best of times.
